So I have moved a bit closer to the Ute reservation these days. I drive past it every day. There is some nasty stuff going on out here on the astral level. I am pretty sure that it is due to the atrocities that happened, but it is heavy duty. I now live about the equivalent of 40 city blocks due west of 'Skinwalker' ranch. There is an open blasting portal that spews all sorts of nasties out of it there. I talked to a few of my Native friends, and they said basically that they know they are cursed, and that it would probably take an army to clear it out. My point is-is there something we can do? Does anyone do that kind of work? This land out here, it's unbelievable.

If you had read up on the Skinwalker Ranch, why would you even try to entangle yourself in that? These portals are all over Utah, the country and the world. It is kind of lazy of you to ascribe human values to the non-human forces behind them. They are there for a reason and the entities and forces that dwell there should be left alone. There are things on, in and above this world that are far older than thee and me, and if we are smart then we will stay away while they do their business in their places. If we are not, well, we can always get smashed like the bugs we are to them.

There are not enough bright lights, bunnies and blessed bees in this planetary system to even budge one of these places, so I suggest cancelling any harmonic convergences, exorcisms or drum circles and let that place and others like it be just what they are. We don't belong there.

Yeah...a lot of Caucasians get that feeling.

Sure, some it may be that. But, there's more to it than just genocide.

This is bad...why?

Forgive the derisive laughter but LOL! Gateways are open all over the planet, like Ru said. Consider your perspective of what's "Good" and "Bad" too. What is "Nasty" to you could be very beneficial to other things...things that are necessary to maintain some semblance of Natural Balance.

What Nation do they come from? Why are they telling you they're cursed? What is their curse?

As for taking an army to clear it out...nah. Not really. It's supposed to be there. If it weren't, the Ute Elders would have taken it out already, without the help of--forgive me--European descendants.

We? I'll tell you what I would do if I were in your situation. I would respect the Land. I would Work with it. I would Awaken myself to it. What I would not do is try to impose my Westernized view of the world on it. Native lands are sacred places, and that sacredness can bleed out for miles. Just because you, and your 'Native Friends' don't understand the processes going on around you does not mean that they are evil.

Sure, lot's of people. They're also the sort of people that end up falling down very obviously marked wells.

There are also people that understand that Nature does not give up her secrets just because we demand them from Her. Those are the sort of people that can Invoke Decay on a solid slab of 6 inch thick concrete and have it disintegrate in a little over a year. Want more information? Look up Moonridge.

What makes the land there any less spectacular than the land anywhere else?

The Genii Loci of a given place know their own, Rowan. You are probably, by those Spirits, considered to be arrogant and unperceptive to come into a land that has had spirit denizens connected to the Folk who live there for more centuries than there have been white people on this continent, and say that someone of your puny, book-learned, shallow white-people's "knowledge" needs to "fix" something. How dare you, knowing nothing of the Land and nothing of the Folk, believe you could possibly have anything whatsoever to offer, or even know that anything on that land in any way, shape, or form has anything whatsoever to do with you. I'm disgusted. Get off your arrogant high-horse and go find out what spirits want to talk to YOU, and do the work YOU are called to do. This, little girl, isn't it.

Aisling-
Actually I did talk to the spirits a few days ago. You are right, that is exactly what I needed to do. As far as the land goes-some time I would like some people to have a look. It is apparent there is something wrong. I wasn't trying to go out to skinwalker ranch armed with only a pentacle and sage smoke in the dark of the night and freak myself out, but merely trying to figure out if the work should/could be done, or what course of action should be taken. I was rattled after driving by it that night. It was super creepy, especially with that weird west wind stirring everything up.
The spirits told us that we were babies and thank you very much for the thought, but come back when we are older. Like a few thousand years older. lolz. Embarassed They also told me that Bottle Hollow Lake is poisonous-and no there is nothing I or anyone else can do about it. They also didn't go into the why's of that it is poison, but told us not to get in or around the lake. On skinwalker ranch They didn't know what the word 'portal' meant, but when I used the word 'tear' they knew, and said they were on it, and no, I couldn't help as I was a baby, but they have it handled. They did act however like it was sort of a problem, and said that it was why there were so many of their kind around, kinda...regulate it.

Durriken-
I agree with most of what you said. According to my Ute friends though, the Ute Elders are frightened of it, and just try their best to stay away from it. They tell the kids and teens to make sure they are home before dark and not allow them out after dark. They also have certain areas where they tell the kids and teens not to go even during the day because it is dangerous. I imagine the spirits probably told them the same thing they told my meddling ass. We are on it, don't worry, stay out of it's way.

Raudhan-

Yeah... Embarassed I think you are right on that one.

Evilbelle-
As far as looking into the caves, you are way braver than me. No way.

It sounds to me like you have some really good guides.

Now, I admit I am very curious about the things that go on there after I read the book and other stuff on the internet, the Coast-to-Coast interviews, etc. I would love to be able to go there and observe some of the phenomena that occur there. I imagine that the NIDS has that well in hand now. I also would not want to take the chance that some of the things that happen to animals there would not also happen to me.

*shudders*

I would love to take people on a tour around the weirdness that is our area. I would not recommend going onto the skinwalker ranch because it is very dangerous, and it is also NIDS private property and has a great deal of security. If anyone wants to take a field trip there is a lot of lovely things out here as well as things that are very strange and dangerous. I would not go out on Native lands without permission and also not without my Native friends as escorts. Not only is it illegal without them, but not really a good idea.

We have a lot of good guides out here. Some specific to us, and others are just local and interested. It is an amazing experience.

Ru-
The local tribe here is Ute. They have a couple hundred year dispute with the Navajo tribe as well as some warring with the Arapaho tribe. From what I can tell, it seems to be between certain families of each tribe. They cursed each other a long time ago, and it has caused...scarring? roads? I don't know the right word, but long areas for these things to travel on in this area, whereas in most places it isn't like that. They run out of road to move, so they seem to be more active here than in places that don't have those type of 'roads'.

There are places like the Skinwalker Ranch all over the state, but I don't believe any are as famous because no one built a house in the middle of one of them and then got the UFO community involved. In fact, that area was known locally, but not really beyond that because the original owners never publicized it. There are a couple of places in the Wasatch Mountains that I will never visit after dark, just because of the strange stuff that happens there in the daytime. I have heard of a few similar places in the West Desert. A friend of mine told me about another such place out south and east of Price which my cousin confirmed from her knowledge of the word of mouth in that area. A guy that used to live here named Borilar told me about this kind of a place down in Arizona.

Anyway, my point in bringing all of these different places up without being too specific is to say that what you have out there is not unique. What you have out there is well publicized, however. I also believe these places are well beyond the doing of Utes, Navajos and any other tribe of Man and are probably also older than any tribe of Man. These places are probably enshrined in local myth and legend as much as Skinwalker Ranch is all over the internet. These are all places that are forbidden or taboo from indigenes in the know, and these kinds of taboo are probably widely thought of as superstition to people of our culture.

I think you are right about that. When we talk to the Fremont Spirits in this area, as well as their-guardians? land type spirits that don't look human in any way, they tell us much the same thing. There are a lot of areas that are taboo here, and I am sure they are all over the world too. I just don't like driving by that horrible lake every day and see it from the road. It bothers me.
